Wildflower Garden Bushcare

About this event

Wildflower Garden community day
We work on the first and third Sunday of the month to maintain the old Wildflower Garden and prevent introduced species getting into the  greater Black Hill Conservation Park.

As the Wildflower Garden was once planted out with Australian plants from a variety of areas, we need to be constantly vigilant for species with have the potential to become invasive weeds.

Our tasks are varied, sometimes we might doe some planting, sometimes we will maintain paths, or prune back plants that are  encroaching on the walking tracks.  Other times, we might be hand weeding or working in the adjacent conservation area to control an outbreak of an invasive species.

Our events are weather dependant.  One extreme or catastrophic fire risk days, our events are automatically cancelled.

We may also cancel due to rain or extreme winds, both of which put volunteers at risk.

Please let us know if you are coming so we have sufficient equipment for you and we can all make sure we are COVID-Safe.
