Let's celebrate 11 years of Crag Care by busting some weeds!
Join South Australian climbers helping to protect the biodiversity of the climbing areas of Morialta. Everyone welcome! You don't have to be a climber. (However we will be scrambling down descent gullies to access the work area. Contact one of the coordinators if you aren't sure if this is for you.
Having nailed last year's mission to clear the worst of the weeds at the top of the cliffs, we are shifting our attention to the base. We will either be drilling and filling a forest of olives at the base of Boulder Bridge, or pulling bushy weeds like Rhamnus from the base of Far Crag. (There will be a descent gully scramble.)
Bring a helmet, or message us and we'll track down a spare.
NOTE MOTHER'S DAY SPECIAL TIMING!! This is the one event of the year we hold on a Saturday instead of Sunday, to avoid the Mother's Day clash.
Don't forget to be prepared for the weather, the weeds and the scrambling. Long sleeves are wise, and sturdy shoes too - keeping in mind the scramble down the descent gully. And your helmet!
Yes this is a birthday... there may be cake!
