Dean Nicolle’s eucalyptus arboretum at Currency Creek has free open days for the general public on Saturday 1 October and Sunday 2 October, from 9.00am to 4.30pm. This is the largest collection of eucalypts of 900 species and 10,000 trees in the world. Join Dean on either a one or extended two hour free guided walking tour commencing at 10am or 2pm on either day. Remember that daylight saving starts on Sunday 2 October. Clocks go back an hour so you will need to get out of bed an hour earlier than the previous day. Wear a hat and walking shoes/boots. As many trees will be flowering, bring a camera. Books and plants will be on sale to support Dean’s work as a passionate and practical scientist.
Directions. From Goolwa take the Alexandrina road north to Strathalbyn, road B37. Proceed through Currency Creek for 1.5km and turn left at Adelaide Place. Then follow the signs.
