In October we tried something different than what we normally do as volunteers. We created an activity using observations from the Atlas of Living Australia (ALA). The ALA is a comprehensive consolidation of recorded observations of plants and animals and more, built up over time. But what we were most interested in was the past 20 year history of where our priority native plants have been located and recorded. This allows use to check in on them and find out what we can do to help these colonies. 

With the help of the Magill Venturers we held an activity for 2 hours where we were able to find 4 colonies of White Goodenia or Goodenia albiflora (pictured). These were both in areas we worked previously and have not worked as well as observations that were documented and places where they are undocumented.
The plants were found using gps coordinates from the ALA website. We selected species we were likely  to find based on the time of year they were likely to be flowering and our existing knowledge of the site.

The native plants we found were documented by taking a photo and by completing google forms addressing a few comments to work out the growing conditions of the plant and details about the location. 
This data collected will help inform the project coordinator of the location and and potential threats to the important native plant colonies within the project site.
